Notices of Public Hearing to Consider Changes to Zone 1 Water Rates
In 1996, California voters approved Proposition 218, which amended the state constitution related to passage of property related fees. Proposition 218 requires the Agency to inform property owners and rate payers that 1) proposed increases are being considered; 2) clearly demonstrate the basis on which the rates are calculated; and 3) hold a public hearing at least 45 days after public notification. Water rate increases are subject to majority protest. If a majority of impacted property owners and ratepayers submit written protests, the proposed rate increases cannot be adopted. To protest, include your name, address of the impacted property (or Assessor’s Parcel number), which proposed utility service rate adjustment is being protested, and your signature. Written protest can be hand delivered at the Placer County Water Agency Business Center, located at 144 Ferguson Road or sent by mail to P.O. Box 6570 Auburn, CA 95604.
