The Sierra Ridge Pipeline Improvement Project includes the construction of treated water pipelines in Wells Avenue, Val Verde Road, and Barton Road which including a portion within Croftwood Subdivision to increase system transmission capacity, particularly fire flow, along the Taylor Road and Sierra College Boulevard pipelines. The project includes the installation of approximately 4,150 feet of 18 inch pipeline, 2,230 feet of 16 inch pipeline, 8,330 feet of 12 inch pipeline and improvements at the Val Verde Road Pressure Reducing Station located at the intersection of Val Verde Road and Dick Cook Road.
The project will be constructed in segments to reduce the impact to local residents. Roads will be closed for pipeline installation, trench repaving, and overlay work (full road width paving) during the times described below. Road closures will be Monday through Friday during daytime work hours; however, access for emergency vehicles, public services, business and residents will be maintained at all times. All lanes are anticipated to be open during non-working hours.
• Shoulder work in Wells Avenue and Barton Road to be completed the first week in August.
• Overlay of Val Verde Road to be completed by the first week of August.
• Modifications to the above ground utility box outside road right of way on Wells Ave, Barton Road, Val Verde Road and Dick Cook Road to be completed by the middle of August.
• Access Road work through the Croftwood Subdivision west of Barton Road to be completed by the middle of August.
