How can I check for a leak in my system?
|
To determine if you have a leak in your system, turn off all interior water and any irrigation water. Take pencil and paper and go to your water meter. Remove the meter box lid and see if the dial on the meter is moving. If you have all your water off and the dial is moving then you have a leak. If the dial does not move, write down the meter read and wait one hour. During this time, walk your property and look for sign of a water leak. After one hour see if the number on your meter dial has moved. This will tell you whether you have a leak or not.

|
Why does "estimated read" show on my bill?
|
This is often caused by a meter that is inaccessible due to a vehicle parked over it, brush, or other obstacle that prevents the meter reader from accessing the meter. Please help our meter readers by keeping the area around your meter accessible at all times.

What do the charge components on my treated water bill mean?
|
Your bill is composed of four components: a basic service
charge, state and federal mandated charge, renewal and replacement
charge, and a water commodity (usage) charge.
- Basic Service Charge - The basic service charge
is a monthly charge to cover operations and maintenance
of the water system. This charge is based by meter size.
- State and Federal Mandated Charge - This charge
is for state and federal mandated projects.
- Renewal and Replacement Charge consists of
two components:
Raw Water Source Component - funds projects to
improve the raw water conveyance systems upstream of water
treatment plants.
Treated Water Facilities Component - funds replacement
of older treated water infrastructure and facilities including
water treatment plants, pipelines, or other treated water
facilities.
- Commodity or Use Charge - This is the cost
for actual water. The Agency applies an inclining block
tier rate structure, which is to promote water use efficiency.

How do I apply for a job at PCWA?
|
Applications are only accepted for positions that are open for recruitment. When a position opens that you are interested in applying for, you should obtain an application from the Human Resources Department. Return all completed application materials to the Human Resources Department no later than 5 p.m. on the closing date (postmarks are not accepted). The closing date is listed on all job announcements.
Some recruitments are "promotional" which means that only current Agency employees may apply for the position.
It is a great idea to keep a copy of the application materials you submitted and job opportunity announcement to assist you in preparing for any test and/or interview process that may be required.
