Responsible for human resources, safety programs, risk
management, document imaging and management and information
systems. In addition, human resources administers employee
payroll and benefit programs, including insurance and retirement,
conducts and administers labor relations and classification
and compensation programs. Risk Management administers property
and liability insurance, claims against the Agency, and
workers compensation. Information Systems oversees the central
computer, local and wide area networks, and personal computers,
the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system
used to monitor and control water flows in the system.

The Financial Services Department manages the Agency's
financial resources, providing general finance and control
services for the Agency including accounting, treasury,
budget, rates, and purchasing.

Assists customers with all service related issues including new accounts, billing, leaks, outages, payment processing, collections, meter reading, testing, replacement, water efficiency, backflow, constructed conveyance, service installations (both treated and raw water), as well as 24-hour answering service for emergencies.

Respond to emergencies and operational items relayed to our department
from the Customer Service department or from the answering service.
Emergencies include raw and treated water pipeline leaks, canal leaks
and other miscellaneous items. This department also includes canal
operations, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and warehouse operations.

The Resource Development Department is involved
in the relicensing of the Middle Fork American River Hydroelectric
Project, watershed stewardship activities, and water and
hydroelectric resource issues throughout Placer County and
the region when appropriate

The Technical Services Department is divided into two divisions;
the Engineering Division and the Water Quality Division.
The Engineering Division is responsible for planning, design,
and construction of the Agency's infrastructure for the
domestic and raw water systems. The Water Quality Division
is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the
Agency's water treatment plants, storage facilities, pumping
stations, and related distribution system facilities.

PCWA's Power System is located in Foresthill, 17 miles from Auburn. The Middle Fork Project is a multi-purpose project designed to conserve and control the waters of the Middle Fork of the
American River, the Rubicon River and certain tributaries for irrigation, domestic and commercial purposes and for the generation of electric energy. Principal project features are two storage and five diversion dams, five power plants, diversion and water transmission facilities, five tunnels and related facilities. the power plants have a combined dependable generating capacity of 190,700 KW. The two storage reservoirs have a combined capacity of approximately 340,000-acre feet.
