2014 Drought Information

PCWA experienced a 30% cut in one of its primary water sources earlier this year and subsequently asked customers to reduce their water use by 10 percent, with 20 percent as a desired goal for the duration of the drought.  Through June, PCWA customers have successfully reduced their water use by 16 percent compared to a similar time in 2013.  Customers have taken extra steps to reduce their long-term water use by converting existing lawns to low water use landscaping, installing water-efficient irrigation systems and high efficiency appliances.  Your response and assistance are very much appreciated.

Unfortunately, we are facing extremely serious drought conditions in California and as a result, the State Water Resources Control Board adopted statewide emergency conservation regulations requiring local agencies to implement water restrictions.  The State restrictions as well as PCWA’s water use guidelines, links to other drought news and water saving information and resources can be found below.

Achieving reductions in water use will help ensure that there is an adequate supply of water for this year and into 2015 if drought conditions persist.
